UniSport Nationals

UniSport Nationals provides an opportunity for students from universities across Australia to compete against each other in numerous sporting competitions.

The Nationals are comprised of the flagship UniSport Nationals event and a number of standalone national championships throughout the year, culminating in one university being crowned the overall national champions.

UniSport Nationals

The 2026 UniSport Nationals will be held in Perth, Western Australia and will see over 5,000 participants from across the country battle it out to be crowned national champions in one of 30 different sports.

Indigenous Nationals

In 2026, the 30th Indigenous Nationals will be held from 29 June to 3 July at the University of Newcastle in Newcastle, NSW. The event will be contested in a mixed competition across four sports: touch football, basketball, netball, and volleyball.

National Championships

A selection of Nationals sports are held as standalone championships throughout the year often as part of partner events or hosted by member universities. National Championships form part of the overall Nationals title each year.

The standalone championships in 2026 are:

  • Triathlon Nationals (19 April, Wollongong NSW)
  • Athletics Nationals (22-24 April, Gold Coast QLD)
  • 3×3 Basketball Nationals (6-8 May, University of Canberra ACT)
  • Swimming Nationals (15-17 May, Sydney NSW)
  • Distance Running Nationals (4-5 July, Gold Coast QLD)
  • T20 Cricket Nationals (27-31 July, Sunshine Coast QLD)
  • Surfing Nationals (28-30 July, Sunshine Coast QLD)
  • Cheer and Dance Nationals (10 Aug, Melbourne VIC)
  • Cross Country Nationals (22-23 Aug, Ballarat VIC)
  • Snow Nationals (31 Aug – 2 Sep, Mt Buller VIC)
