Sporting Facility Hire

Looking for somewhere to hold rugby training each week? Or somewhere to host a netball tournament, run dance classes, or play a social game of badminton? The UCFitx sporting precinct, located at the UC Bruce campus, has a wide range of indoor and outdoor sport and recreation facilities for hire.

The UC training grounds and ovals, UC sports courts and the UC gym are all great options, whether you need a sporting venue for a regular booking or a one-off event.

UC sporting facility hire is open to students, staff and alumni, local sporting teams, community groups and members of the public.

Need an outdoor sporting venue? UCFitx has some of the best non-enclosed ovals in the Canberra region. Our six fields – three with lighting – can be used as training and match grounds for a variety of sports including soccer, rugby, gridiron, ultimate frisbee and more.

UC and local sporting teams regularly train and play on our ovals, plus we regularly host major sporting tournaments and competitions throughout the year, such as the University Rugby 7s series and a range of competitive Intervarsity sports against local and interstate teams.

Our UC ovals are not line marked as standard, but line marking can be organised at an additional cost. If you require line marking for your event, you’ll need to submit a request in writing at least one week prior to your booking date.

If you’re keen to improve your racquet skills, UCFitx has three squash courts available for hire every day of the week, including weekends. Located on campus in Building 4, you can book a session length to suit you – from 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. All your equipment needs are covered too, with squash balls available for purchase, and racquets and protective eyewear* for hire.

Bookings can be made one week in advance. Weeknight slots are often in high demand, so be sure to secure your spot early.

*Please note, players 19 years old and under must wear protective eyewear.

Practice your swing at one of our golf simulator bays located on campus in Building 4. The simulators let you have a hit on the driving range, try your hand at striking targets, improve your putting skills on the green, and play a virtual round on some of the world’s most famous courses. The simulator technology provides all the stats you’ll need, so you can keep track of your launch angle, backspin, sidespin, swing path and ball distance, making ongoing improvements to your game.

If you’re from an organised sporting team, club or association, UCFitx has two indoor multisport courts available for hire. Both are marked for netball, basketball and volleyball.

UCFitx has eight badminton courts available for hire, so why not reserve one for your next competition or casual game.

Bookings are essential for all play, with single or double court slots only available on the day of play. If you’re hiring three or more courts at once, advanced bookings are recommended.
