O-Week is UC’s official welcome week, taking place the week before classes begin each semester. It’s a vibrant celebration run by UCLifeX, featuring a full line-up of entertainment, social events, and opportunities to connect with the UC community.
Whether you’re stepping onto campus for the first time or returning for another semester, O-Week sets the tone for the year ahead — full of energy, connection, and campus life at its best.

Get keen for the ultimate welcome back – Semester 1 O-Week is coming in hot from Monday 9 to Saturday 14 February! UCX is serving up a week packed with free events, epic clubs, volunteering opportunities, free food, awesome giveaways, and all the fun you can handle.

Speed Friending
New to UC or just want to make new friends? This is an O-Week must for you!
Running throughout lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, Speed friending is the ultimate way to meet new people in a fun way. With two sessions on Monday, you will have multiple opportunities to chat and vibe with other students.
Faculty Cup
Represent your faculty and compete for pride (and a free lunch)!
In teams with your friends and fellow students, you’ll compete in a variety of sporty, brainy and fun challenges to put each faculty to the test. Oh, and did we mention free merch for everyone who participates?
Toga Party
A fan favourite of O-Week, the Toga Party is back to welcome your to O-Week. Grab your favourite toga, cleanest bed sheet or nicest tablecloth and craft your perfect outfit.
Once you’re there, meet new people and dance the night away!
Canberra Adventure
If you’re new to Canberra, this is the event for you! We’ll be operating hop on hop off buses all day to get you to all the Canberra staples – new Parliament, House, Old parliament House, Questacon, the National Arboretum Canberra, Australian War Memorial and more!
